HOW ARE DOCK SLIPS ASSIGNED?

For several years Kevin O'Connor with significant assistance from his spouse, Ann, has effectively directed the dock assignments for the club. In the last two years the procedures have taken on a more formalized shape. Kevin performs this administration out of a strong dedication to the club.

Slip availability varies from year to year depending upon renewal trends. During some years one or two spots become available. In other years more than two free up. The policy is to distribute the space based upon "a first come, first serve" basis. Kevin keeps track of the list.

Below is the procedure for assignment:

  • A CSC member wishing to rent a space must submit the request as part of the general application
  • The Treasurer receives the requests to Kevin as the applications flow in
  • Kevin attempts to confirm with existing dock slip holders if they have not resigned for the season
  • Kevin then assigns the newly available dock slips based upon the number of newly created vacancies and
  • Kevin specifically assigns all dock slip numbers. The outside spaces are more user friendly than are the inner spaces. As a consequence, the outer spaces are assigned to the most senior dock slip holders.
